The town centre of Dartford was brought to a halt on the 21st October 2011 as the third Dartford Festival of Light took place. The event combined 10 schools from Dartford along with their parents and members of the public later joined as the parade went on.

The festival aims to bring Dartford together as a community and has been inspired by the Cultural Olympiad.

The festival started outside the Central library, leading onto the High Street and eventually coming back to the park itself. The parade featured bands including Samba groups and drummers and was led by members of Kent County Council and Dartford Borough Council Cllr Jeremy Kite , Cllr Avtar Sandhu, Deputy Cabinet Member for Communities and Mayor of Dartford Cllr Eddy Lampkin along with various other local councillors.
