About Avtar Sandhu MBE

Avtar was born in Punjab which is one the most affluent parts of India, but moved with his family to Dartford in 1969, attending St Albans School, York Road School following on to The Downs School Dartford. After leaving school he began to run the family business which was set up by his late father Darshan Sandhu MBE.

Avtar lives with his wife and their daughter & son. He has been involved in community work since the age of 20. Enhancement of community relations is something very close to my heart, its something my late father Darshan Singh Sandhu MBE was keen on and I'm very privileged to be in a position to be able to continue in his footsteps. He has always had a special passion for youth facilities and was was involved with a varied range of organisations.
